HP scanjet 2400: when will be supported

[Log in to get rid of this advertisement]
Hello.

I have a HP Scanjet 2400 scanner, and I know that it is unsupported by sane. For now. It will be supported by a backend, but when? Could anybody tell me? Thanks.

Hi.

Thanks for the quick reply, but unfortunately I1m not a programmer. I was told, that the sane programmer guys are working on it, but I don't know when will they release it.

I know this answer is rather late, but I was looking around on the net to see if the scanner has become supported in the mean time. The answer? No. I have this scanner for over two years now, irritating, that is for sure. (and before someone jumps on me, no I am not a programmer)

However, if you install a program called Virtualbox (you have to check the mepislovers.org website, extensive instructions there were given to yours truly ) you are very likely to get it working in Windows in there. Wine didn't do it, Crossover Office failed as well, but with Windows 2000 Pro inside Virtualbox on my plain 6.0 mepis install scanning works like a charm.

Something worth to consider.
