came after a long time. I have HP Proliant DL 360 G6 server and I trying to install RHEL 5 on that server. and when I come to the disk partition screen it says there are no disk found.
I think berndbausch may be correct in part or fully. Basically we all see that the distro isn't finding a place to load. That could be that the array is not configured.
Otherwise a few other issues could be going on. You are using a very old RH. Consider a newer Centos/Scientific/Oracle linux at least to try or test if not use. It could be that there isn't support in a 2007 distro for this 2011 hardware.
Sometimes when performance issue's (due to hardware) arise installing a higher version of the kernel can help.
Re-compiling the kernel is another option. Things that once didn't work after recompilation result in functionality.
You can check on disk's by uuid in /dev/disk/byuuid to ensure that all is well.

We need to find some info on the storage and if the disto that the OP has does indeed support it without any additions to media.
Also if and how the storage is attached and configured.
According to the PDF on the Standard Storage it's as follows for the HP Proliant:
Code:
Entry Models
HP Smart Array P410i/Zero Memory Controller (RAID 0/1/1+0)
Base Models
HP Smart Array P410i/256 MB Controller (RAID 0/1/1+0/5/5+0)
Performance Models
HP Smart Array P410i/512 MB BBWC Controller (RAID 0/1/1+0/5/5+0)
High Efficiency Models
HP Smart Array P410i/Zero Memory Controller (RAID 0/1/1+0)
Available upgrades: 256MB, 512MB with BBWC, 512MB with FBWC, 1G with FBWC, Battery kit
upgrade (for the 256MB cache), and Smart Array Advanced Pack (SAAP)
As far as internal storage, the Diskette Drive and Optical Drive are marked as "none":-
Max Internal Storage is:
Code:
Hot Plug SAS
Hot Plug SATA 4.8TB
4.0TB
Interfaces Serial
Video
Network RJ-45
iLO 2 remote
management port
Keyboard (PS/2)
Pointing Device (PS/2)
SD slot
USB 2.0 Ports 1
1
2
1
DA - 13235
8 x 600GB SAS
8 x 500GB SATA

You need to download an iso of HP utility CD called SmartStart which you have to boot. It allows you to configure the SmartArray P410i and also has a useful set of diagnostics.
I'm not sure how easy it will be to obtain now as HP have now ring fenced their utility software and firmware. You need to have a maintenance contract to access it. You may be lucky in finding something out on the web though.
you should also be able to F8 into the disk utility during POST I think. Once you go through the set up and configure and initialise the RAID volume, the volume will show as /dev/cciss0 (assuming you only configure one volume!)
The F8 might be the easiest option to try initially. How many actual disks do you have in the server?

From recent purchases these should come in the box.

Yup, that's the way I always do it, it's just a matter of hitting F8 at the right time as F8 is also used to configure iLO etc.
Once the relevant RAID volumes have been configured they'll appear to the OS as individual disks.

Unfortunately the Op says this is a G6, current DL380s are Gen 9 so I very much doubt it's new. SmartStart CD probably long gone.

To clarify, the OS won't see the individual disks making up the RAID volume(s), only the RAID volume(s)themselves. As I mentioned, they will show as /dev/cciss0, /dev/cciss1, etc rather than /dev/sd0...sd1...

Firmware updates are for people with contracts or warranty. Utility software including (afaik) Smartstart is still free.

That's good to know! SmartStart is now effectively an obsolete product as HP now have a system called "Intelligent Provisioning" which includes SmartStart functionality but is now accessed through onboard firmware rather than a CD/DVD. This was first implemented in Gen 8 servers.
The DL380 G6 looks like it's from 2011, see Quickspecs here. Check here for Smartstart CD here
