HP laserjet CP1525nw model specific drivers unavailable - workaround needed please

Does anyone have a workaround for non existent model specific drivers for my HP Laserjet CP1525nw printer please??

I bought it advertised as Linux compatible but cannot locate drivers for it.

SUSE 11.2 by the way.

Cheers

David

(PS it is HP themselves that sell it as compatible with Linux and are refusing to accept that their own UK website product description is misleading)

Have you tried installing hplip ?
HP printers are well catered for under Linux. It may be that your distro does not have hplip installed by default.

when you go to
http://localhost:631/

and set it up
there is a generic hp laser jet ( foomatic)
at the end of the laser jet number listing ( alphabetical order)
dose that work?
or the similar "HP laserJet P1505n hpijs "
or "HP LaserJet Plus foomatic "

Right now it is hard to tell...

The HPLIP site is not available at the moment, but the latest HPLIP driver is listed on SourceForge. Google for instructions on how to install and try it.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/hplip/files/hplip/

This is a new Laserjet model, and it is likely to be supported by the HPLIP driver.
