I have searched that how i can use my webcam on kubuntu(ubuntu) I found out i have to install some applications like "cheese" or "vlc" to capture the stream but they cant recognise my webcam
can anybody help me with this issue? ( I have a laptop and it has a build-in webcam )
We might be able to help, if you provided some actual details. Things like what KIND of laptop? Version of Kubuntu? What you've tried/done thus far? What error(s) you're seeing?? Just telling us "I've got a webcam and it doesn't work", gives us nothing to go on.
You can try an "lsusb" or "lspci", and check for the webcam there. And are you able to SEE a picture from the webcam, but not able to capture a stream, or does nothing work?

This makes no sense....if you didn't install any software to USE the webcam, how can it give you errors??? Again, what have you tried/done?? WHAT gives you the "No DEVICE FOUND" message, and when?
Try putting your user into the "video" group, if it's not there already, and try running cheese to see if you get a picture.

I installed cheese ... when I run it it says No Device Found
I added my user into video group ... but it didnt help

Right. Read the message you're getting...the make isn't completing, so the installation (and the subsequent modprobe), is failing. Until you get the module built, you obviously won't be able to install it.
What kernel are you running? Do a uname -a, and make sure it's the 2.6.35-27-generic. If not, you're trying to compile against the wrong kernel source, and will need to install the right one, before continuing. Which version of the module did you download? There are several on that page, depending on your kernel, along with one for UVC or WDM chipsets. Again, reference their instructions.
