HOW TO UPGRADE YOUR ATI DRIVERS
To install ati radeon drivers for the first time in Mandrake 10.0 ( and general in 2.6.xx kernels ) go here :

Since u've done this new drivers will come out ( hope so cause ati drivers really su@k!)
To update them do the following
(1) Go to
www.ati.com goto drivers -->linux--graphics driver-->(choose your radeon)-->go
(2)Download the latest driver for your xfree86 ( for most modern distros it's 4.3.0 )
(3) open up a console and
su
(give root's password)
init 3
(4) Give root's username (root) and password
(5) Change directory ( cd ) wherever you downloaded your ati drivers
(6) rpm -ivh --force (driver's_name).rpm
(7) cd /lib/modules/fglrx/build_mod
(8) sh make.sh
(9) cd ..
(10) sh make_install.sh
(11) fglrxconfig
Give the appropriate settings for your system ( eg monior settings , resolutions , etc...) and make sure that when it asks you about agp gart module to say Y andnot the default N (no)
(12) Reboot and voila!
PS1 To make sure u have installed everuthing right when u reboot open up a terminal and
fglrxinfo
The output should be something like this
Loading required GL library /usr/lib/libGL.so.1
display: :0.0 screen: 0
OpenGL vendor string: ATI Technologies Inc.
OpenGL renderer string: RADEON 9600 Generic
OpenGL version string: 1.3 (X4.3.0-X.X.X)
(where X.X.X is the driver's version (eg 3.9.0) )
