How to upgarde kernel to recognise more than 1Gb ram

Any chance of some help here, Im running Redhat 7.2 with a Kernel version of 2.4.20-20.7. It only auto-detects 1Gb of ram, i have 4Gb installed.
Ive found some info saying i have to modify the include/asm-i386/page.h header file then recompile the kernel, where do i find this header file?
and is there a good resource on compiling the kernel anywhere.

thanks obo

There's a good thread on these boards on recompiling. Search for "kernel compile" and for the username DrOzz.

I don't think you'll have to go messing with the header file. There's an option in the configuration process for support for 4GB or 64GB of RAM.
