How to share a printer with KDE samba+cups

Hello,

I have KDE, and I would like to share my printer. Which KDE program should I use for that (with gui) for samba and/or cups sharing ?

thanks !

I personally prefer to use cups with its browser based admin. Just make sure you publish the printer you want to share and away you go.

If you already have the printer installed, put http://<hostname or ip>:631, this will bring up the cups admin page, you can then do what you want to the printer.

I suggest just use CUPS. When you are going to print from another computer to the computer that is serving CUPS, use http://ip_address:631/printer_name. Setting up SAMBA to share a printer is confusing and is hard. Sharing the printer with CUPS is a lot easier than SAMBA.

Only use CUPS web interface to setup your printers.
