I recently installed ubuntu on my computer. im a newbie. i wanna use my adsl broadband modem with usb connection to connect to the internet. can any body help me how to do this.


my brodband modem is tndsl modem which has broadcom chipset. i checked whether my modem is listed in usb devices list with the lsusb command. its listing correctly. i dont know how to proceed further to install internet

Chipset name :broadcom
Model:tndsl 2120
my location : india
my isp : BSNL
and also how to check up my kernel version

Hello

Problem is you need a linux driver for your modem. I've googled a little but found nothing useful. Does your PC have a network card? Go ou and buy a modem to connect to your network card. Usually works fine.
