Take a look at this motherboard (it's just an example)

If look the expansionslots from the left, then the first one is an isa-slot(the long black one), next to it is four white slots, thats pci-slots, then there is a small
brown one thats a AMR-slot for combined audio/modem cards , then comes
a brown slot approx the same size as the pci-slots, but located a little further
from the edge of the board, thats an AGP-slot.
Pci and agp cards are not interchangeable, they don't fit in the wrong slot,
and they run at different speeds. Pci is 33Mhz and agp is 66 Mhz.
A friend of mine had a machine like yours. I think it was based on Intel 810
chipset with integrated graphics, and was equipped with only two or three
pci-slots.
ps: intel have linuxdrivers for the 810 chipset, but i don't know if they work!
