How to format a SD card that's recognized as a read-only file?

Hi!
I've got some trouble trying to format a SD card. I tried to format it in the GUI and the terminal, but couldn't make it. I couldn't even copy or move any file to the directory in the SD card, even logged as root.
It's a SD card from a digital camera. When I insert it in the camera, it says the card is blocked, so that it's not possible to take any picture.
I tried using "fdisk" to set a new fyle system in it, and tried "mkdosfs" trying to format it under the current file system. Is there anything else I can do, or could it be a hardware problem? Anyway, thanks in advance.

Best regards
darthpinguim May the source be with you!

Is it possible that the SD card has lock switch on the side of it. I have some that you can lock using such a switch and that would only allow it to be mounted read only.

Regards,

Fordeck

Did you double check to see if the write-protect switch on the SD card is in the enabled position?

Hi! I thought about the lock switch too, but there wasn't one.
Actually, it is a microSD card, and there's an adapter for it. There should have been a lock switch.
It happens that I found out that this adapter was damaged in the side where there should be the lock switch.
So, I'd probably buy a new adapter for it.
Thanks anyway the attention.

Best regards
