Cool how to fix "Please have a look at the log file for details: /var/log/jockey.log"


hi..i am newbie here want to ask how to fix "Please have a look at the log file for details: /var/log/jockey.log"

i have installed via jockey,but it failed.
please help me to fix it.

Hi and welcome to LinuxQuestions!

Well, first you should tell us which driver you're trying to install, at which point in the installation process you got this error message (or maybe this part of a more extensive error) and what are the details inside /var/log/jockey.log. Most likely the solution to the problem is inside the auto-generated log file, but without any information we cannot be of much help.

sorry

im forget to tell that.im so sorry.
i used ATI 5470 hd.
that error message appeared since i've tried to install driver from the official website of ATI.
now,i have reinstall my ubuntu,but when i applied to reinstall the driver,that message came again.

yeah, I've got the same problem on Ubuntu 12.04.
That graphic card is sending me mad!!!

You can try to avoid having to reinstall everything removing the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file.
It works for me, but I can't install fglrx anyway...

Did you have any luck with that?
