Question How to find driver name and add it to black list


Hi, this is my first post on this forum
I need to add to blacklist linux native driver for usb wireless adapter,
because i want to configure it with ndiswrapper.

I am using SUSE 11.1

Well, one way to know is to run `lsmod` and check all loaded modules. The one you don't want will be there.
Usually the module names are somehow related to the manufacturer / model of the device, so knowing those details is required to know which module you need to blacklist.

Another way may be to filter the output of `dmesg` with the manufacturer of the adapter. Usually when a driver is loaded it shows something like

[module_name]: [info about the device]

in the system logs.

Here is a thread of mine that I figured out on Suse 11.0 which I would think would be the same. The solution is down about five posts. It explains the reason I went this way was because of the 4306 broadcom card that the native driver would not get along with.
