How to Enabling LAN card RTL8139 automatically on startup

Hey ppl

dead man talking!

I got this cable internet connection recently and I use Fedora Core 1. To start browsing, I first have to enable the Ethernet device each time I boot up. Is there a way to automatically enable this device every time I boot? If there is, I'll be more than glad to know.

Thumbs up

Hi,

Try running "redhat-config-services" in su mode. The "kudzu" service should be started automatically, this will detect ur eth0 (Ethernet card) automatically. If its already detected.. do step 2

step 2: run redhat-config-network, in su (super user) mode. this will show the Network Device Control Window. Click the Configure button.

In the new configure window, Double Click on the Device listed in the Device Tab, You can find a check box, "Activate device when computer starts" thats all you have done...

Have a nice time,
