how to create a cdrom with the driver image?

hi all,

my problem:

i have an HP Proliant ML150 G3 with embedded sata raid controller, I have configure the controller for raid 1, now I'm trying to install CentOS 4.4 but the system don't recognise the raid volume but the two disks like without raid active..

I read the doc from the HP and i found that there is a driver for the RHEL4 to enable the embedded sata raid

this is the site link:
h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/25021.html?jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN

this is an image for floppy disk, but my system don't have a floppy drive... so how can I put this driver image on a cdrom to try to use it via "linux update dd" during the installation process ????

help...

Fulvio

You could try mounting the image...

# mount -t vfat adpahci-[VERSION].rhel4qu2.i686.img /mnt/image

(or wherever you want to put it - you may need to use the loopback interface too...)

$ ls /mnt/image

... to see if it worked.

You could try:

hi, Simon

first tanks for your reply.

actual situation: I had mount the image found on HP site:
h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/25013.html

on another linux box in this way:

mount -o loop -t vfat adpahci-1.2.5552.rhel4qu2.i686.img /mnt/image

so I can see the file list inside.

After that, i had create an iso CD via MagicISO and I try to us it
during the installation process with "linux update dd"...

but the system don't recognise a valid driver in the disk and suggest me
to chose one manually...

I can see in the list the "Adaptec SATA RAID DRIVER" but if I select this one
and continue the installation, no disk are found...

I think that the compatibility is only for the RHEL... or I mistake something.

Some one had successfully installed the CentOS 4.4 or Fedora with HP embedded sata raid?

Fulvio
