Angry How to convince manufacturer to make driver?

To ALL: As one individual or more was kind enough to point out, the reason my printer does not work in Linux is it is incompatible despite the LIE of the distro to the contrary. Now, I was able to find, lately, that they are finally listing Canon printers as either incompatible or problematic. I wrote to both SuSe and Canon and each just passed me back to the other, refusing to admit they had anything to do with the situation! How do I get a manufacturer to make a driver or is there anywhere, regardless of manufacturer, that would honestly list the printers that are compatible? If there are NO Linux distro's that use Canon BJC-2100 printers I need to know that as well as which ones do.

Have you tried using Gimp-Print http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net

I have used these drivers before on Linux and OSX and they seem to work well for most printers. the BJC 2000 is listed as untested though. (I suspect the 2000 driver will work for the 2100)

My distro is SuSE 8.2 and my printer is BJC-2100-SP. I define it as Canon-BJC600, Foomatic + bjc600. Monochrome (because I use monochrome cartridge).
Maybe you can try that. Hope this will help.
