How to connect to http://localhost:631 to install CUPS

I am in a real bind, I am trying to connect to http://localhost:631 in order to
install CUPS and my printer (local) HP-Deskjet_890C and it just doesn't want
to work.

Everytime I try (even on different computers (3) on a network) I get the
same error message, which is:

"An error occurred while loading http://localhost:631
Could not connect to host localhost (port 631)"

Who is the localhost, is it my computer?

Your help will be much appreciated.

Yes, localhost should be your computer. Try using the numerical address
http://127.0.0.1:631/
Also, check your cups server is running and make sure your firewall isn't blocking connections through the loopback interface

What I think you most do is Install CUPS first then connect to localhost:631 or 127.0.0.1:631. There is where you will be able to configure your printers setup.

Yes. First CUPS should be installed.

Configuring and managing your CUPS should be done using the web interface http://localhost:631

localhost is the host name for your local machine which is always IP 127.0.0.1.

Make sure you have first installed CUPS, running the CUPS daemon and then try the above URL in your browser.
