You might find some guidance from the thread of my odyssey through getting a Dell laptop with SuSE 9.1 working:

Good luck!

If SuSE loaded the driver, all you need do is go into YaST and add your settings for the network (SSID, etc.)

I'm having the same problem (hopefully that means I'm not hijacking the thread), and going into Yast shows me that it sees the card, but when I give it details, the cards power light doesn't come on and iwconfig shows no extensions. Should I start a seperate conversation for this?

MikeyXX - Welcome to LQ! As long as your question has relevance to the original post, then No, starting a separate conversation is unnecessary. (Hijacking a thread involves someone barging into one conversation in order to post a question about a totally separate topic, for example, if the original poster was asking for help with a sound card, and then somebody started to ask about how to set up their printer, that would be hijacking.)

In contrast, posting new info and/or asking followup questions in an existing thread helps to make LQ a better and more effective resource, as it concentrates all the useful info in a single thread rather than to have it spread out across several threads. -- J.W.
