How to add a scanner ?

I am running Mandrake Linux 10. As far as I remember, there is an option something like "configure your hardware" and "configure your desktop", however, I find that the option "configure your hardware" is removed by accident. Now, how can I add a scanner ?

Thanks !

In the control console, go to hardware then scanners, if my memory serves me well.
