How do I use QIC-02 tape drive attached to floppy controller

I have an old qic-02 tape drive that is attached to the standard floppy controller. Is this supported and if so how do I access it?

Wow - long time since I've seen one of those things. I remember they were supported in SCO UNIX years ago. Since they were sold in retail outlets I would imagine there is (or was) Linux support for them but you'd probably have to do some digging to find info on them.

Did a search in Google using the words linux, floppy, tape, drive in that order and found the following link (along with others):

http://www.biochem.ucl.ac.uk/~martin/tapes.html

Oddly enough it mentions 1996 which is about the last time I used one of these.

It is supported but the driver is not maintained and may or may not work. What kernel version are you running?
