I'm running Ubuntu 9.04 and have a LaserJet 3100 HP all-in-one printer with a serial connection. I've been trying to install it for a couple of weeks now with no success. When I use CUPS, I get to the point where it gives me three choices of a printer connection: wireless, usb , and I think wireless network, the serial port connection is not selectable. When I try to install by selecting each of the ones mentioned above ubuntu doesn't recognize any printers connected to the computer. Is there another way to set-up a old-school sereal port printer on Ubuntu?
