how do i install a driver (make a file) linux9.0shrike, kernel2.4.

Hi everybody,
I am just like so many other windows users, FRUSTRATED.
Now i am trying to discover this new world of Linux.
It is not easy, so help me enjoy this OS.

Now the real question:

I had these network adapters in my system:

SMC-(10/100) EN5030C (PCI)
and
VIA- (10/100) VT6105 (PCI)
and
on board
NVIDIA nForce MCP Networking Adapter (10/100/1000)

MOTHERBOARD:
A7N8X-X

None of these network cards work!!!
I was able to find some drivers, but they are in the form of makeafile or binery, now i do not know how to work with this.
So if someone would know how to do this, please write the instructions and the commands. Explain it to the beginner

Thank you very much Linux Users

u could try going to system tools and network devices firstly to see if any of ur NIC`s show up in the network box there. Do u really need 3? try going with ur onboard device.
Try opening a terminal window and type lsmod to see if your network card module is loaded.
U can also find lots of help about your probs in the tutorials that u can find on this forum and others. U can also goto www.google.com and find loads of info on there.
Linux isn`t easy at first but keep at it and u will get there :-)
