How do I identify motherboad make?

I just have got used motherboad with AMD K6-2 with it.
I have to start from BIOS update in order to install large hard disc.
But I think no make is written on motherboad and hard to see which one is model number.
I need to identify motherboad make and then download update free from their support site.
How do I identify the make and model number(Mandrake).

I always just grab whatever numbers I can off the mobo and Google on it. Add AMD or K6 as keywords. You can prb use 'lspci -v' get get an idea of the chipset and pther components but searching is your best bet for getting the exact make or the board itself.

Check out the command: dmidecode . It shows all kinds of goodies.
I'm not sure if Mandrake has that but FC3 does.
