How do I change BIOS for my Mini-ITX board.

Hello all,
We have an Mini-ITX board, Intel 201GLY. We are using IDE DOM (Disk On Module) memory. Its working fine with AMI's BIOS versions. But the DOM device not detected in our Intel board. Let me know, how to change our BIOS software from Intel to AMI for our board. Is it possible?. Or shall I try with like U-Boot?. I came to know that, changing BIOS is always risky. Is it true.

Thanks in adv,

The bios is on an EEPROM chip on your motherboard. You change the bios by flashing this chip. You would have to contact AMI and see if they have a bios that can be flashed to your motherboard. I doubt they do but it wouldn't hurt to ask. And yes, flashing the bios can be risky, especially with one not issued by the manufacturer of the motherboard. Attempting that would automatically void the warranty on the motherboard. You could also contact intel and see if they have any bios available that would solve your problem and check the bios updates for your board against version you have. There's a bios update dated 1/04/08:

Might be worth a try.
