How do I change a flash drive to ntfs file system?

I have several flash drives which have fat32 lba file systems.

Can I change them to the file system ntfs?

The reason is I am trying to mount the drive and only the
ntfs seems to work. I use mount -t ntfs /dev/sdc1 /media which works with
ntfs drives but not flash.

I have tried mount -t fat32 /dev/sdc1 /media but it does not recognize the
filesystem.

Any help with either problem would be appreciated.

The correct file system type for a FAT32 is vfat.
Try:
Quote:
mount -t vfat /dev/sdc1 /media/
However, you might want to mount it to a subdirectory within /media. If you are running a desktop then then most will automatically mount a USB drive to /media/... Might cause a few errors.

In addition, the the latest and greatest filesystem driver for NTFS is ntfs-3g. It is included by default in most distributions.

fedora should just AUTO mount the usb drive that is fat32
look in the left pane of Nautilus under "places"

it should be there

and it will NOT auto mount to "/media" that is the OLD location

/run/media/YOUR-USER-NAME/?????

is the current location that systemd and udev will mount it
