how choose video card ?

I have a amd system with kt400 mobo, i want to switch to freeBSD.
but it seems that my video card(ati9200se) doesn't support well under
most unix like system. i decided to have a new video card instead.
But which video card should i choose? NV or Ati?

I would choose nvidia, ati drivers so far are just not good enough yet, but it does seem like they are getting closer, give ati a year or two and go with nvidia for now the best deal I've seen so far has been the fx 5700 ultra card price to performance at least

i would choose a nvidia card too but i don't know whether a nv card can
have hardware 2D/3D acceleration under freeBSD?
It looks like that both NV and ati does not produce driver for freeBSD.
In my case, when i install ATI9200se in my computer, i encountered the problem
that the linux kernel doen't support agp8x mode, but the mb and the video card
works togeher only in 8x mode, i cannot tune it with BIOS. It can only be solved by install
driver from ati.
if freeBSD can works fine with KT400 mb and a FX5700 card?

Well, I think the AGP 8X support was one of the highlights of the 2.6 kernel. Try a distro with that.
