how can i move a device?


how can i move a net-card?

there are two same net-cards in my system,i want to move my one net-card when the system is on.
if the first net-card's device name is eth0,the second's is eth1.After i move a eth0 net-card ,the other's device name should be eth0.
please help!!!

Stop the networking service, remove the eth0 card, and start the network service again. This should make the device previously known as eth1 eth0. If not you may have to set up aliasing using /etc/modprobe.conf.

But removing a PC component when the system is running is a very, very bad idea. You can damage your hardware and if you're unlucky you could hurt yourself.
