How can I download pics from my digital camera into kde?

Its a kodak easyshare 7430, It has a usb cable. In windows I just plug it in and it recognizes it. Is there anyway to do that in Linux with KDE? I dont expect a step by step but maybe just some tips on getting started. I have been searching but have found almost nothing. :(
Thanks.

Try plugging it in and see if a new device node gets made in /dev/ It will probably be /dev/sda1. All you'd have to do is mount it somewhere using the mount commmand, and you should be able to browse it in Konqueror.

Not sure about that camera model, but if you have a removable media such as a SD card or CF card, you can plug it into a card reader, and the above definitely works.

I plugged it in and turned it on and this is the message I get when I do dmesg | tail

hub.c: new USB device 00:1d.7-3.1, assigned address 3
usb.c: USB device 3 (vend/prod 0x40a/0x57b) is not claimed by any active driver.
