How can a command/program be run automatically on boot?
 

My problem is:
I have to use the commercial oss to drive my soundcard because of the failture of ALSA configuration. Every time, I have to run the "soundon" command to probe the soundcard module manually after logining as root. This is really bothering me. What's more, the oss doesn't work after three months' trial use.
My question is:
How can I get the OS to probe the soundcard module automatically before I login?

Which soundcard do you have that ALSA doesn't seem to work with?

If the modules are in the kernel, they should load on boot.

If you must issue that command, there should be something in RedHat
similar to /etc/rc.d/rc.local in Slackware, where you can insert commands
to run when you boot your system.
