home computer assembly

Hi,

I want to build my own computer. I want it to be a two hard drive system to completely separate Windows and Linux (I have to run Windows for banking, etc).

Will any assembled system run both OS's? Or are there incompatibilities between some components, such as chipsets, motherboards, modems, etc?

I don't need the latest and speediest of systems, just something reliable and stable with good expandibility.

Any advice gratefully received.

Chaeck hardware database from the distro you want to use and buy an external modem !

Definitely take onurb's advice and check the hardware compatibility lists, don't buy a "winmodem" and do some digging around at pricewatch.com to save yourself some loot.

Many thanks for your replies. Don't know why I didn't think of the answer for myself! Of course the hardware is related to the distro....
