Question home assembly

Hi,

I want to put together my own computer, one with two hard drives. I need to stay with Windows in part for on-line banking, etc, but want to keep the two OS's entirely separate.

Will the majority of components like motherboards, chipsets, cpu's, run both OS's okay? Or are there compatability problems?

I don't need the latest and speediest of systems but find the various types of motherboard socket and slot rather confusing. Any advice on this and general issues would be welcome.

Thanks,

Blotch
