Hitachi SATA Hard Drive not showing in Disks List in QTParted

Hello,

I am trying to install Mepis 6.0 from Live CD but my Hitachi SATA drive is not listed in QTParted, it does however see my 300GB removable USB hard drive.

I am installing this on a Dell Inspiron 1501 laptop.

I will paste some of the output they ask for before making a hardware post.

Please forgive the length but I am not sure what exactly from the logs should or should not be included.

If there is anything else I should include, please let me know.

These are the high points:
Quote:

PCI: BUG #81[49435024]

PCI: Cannot allocate resource region 7 of bridge 0000:00:05.0
PCI: Cannot allocate resource region 8 of bridge 0000:00:05.0

APIC error on CPU0: 00(40)
APIC error on CPU0: 40(40)
APIC error on CPU0: 40(40)
These last suggest you have APIC problems - set kernel parameter on boot to "noapic, nolapic" and see what happens.

Thanks Simon, I will try when I get home in a few hours (At work).

BIOS seems to be spotty setting up PCI ... I guess there is always replacing the BIOS completely :)
