Question Highpoint Rocketraid problem

I have TWO Rocketraid cards in my computer. They both work fine with the highpoint "open source" drivers. My problem is the Management UI. Which only recognizes one card at a time depending on which driver is listed in /etc/hptcfg. If it says rr2340 then that card shows up in management, If i change it to rr232x, then that card will show up.

I have tried putting the two drivers on two lines, it only read the first driver.

Highpoint support claims it's not possible to get two different cards to show up in the same management UI. I cannot believe it's not possible to list two drivers, i just need to know how to put it into the /etc/hptcfg

Anyone know or have suggestions? Workarounds?

OS: Ubuntu 11.04 (upgrading to 11.10)
cpu: AMD A6 3650 FM1 socket CPU
Mb: Gigabyte A75-UD4H
Raid cards: Highpoint Rocketraid 2340 & 2320

As a long time software hacker I can easily see how they didn't take into account having two cards in the system, or just didn't want the aggravation of making it work for more than one. Can you put one card in the file, launch the GUI, then swap the other one into the file and launch a second copy of the GUI? That would be easy to script, if it works.

Unfortunatly i have been unable to change card viewed successfully without a reboot. restarting hptdeamon doesn't help.

Highpoint support said however if the cards were identical it would work. I assume as long as they use the same driver it would work. Both cards would show up in the management, which DOES support multiple cards. Honestly my impression of highpoint global support is not good. The person that answered me doesn't seem to be very interested in solving my problem as much as getting my support request to go away.
