Anyone had any success with a Nikon Coolpix 4500 on RH8.0? I tried using the Digital Camera tool without much luck... although I may in fact be doing something completely wrong (with Windows XP, I plug in the Coolpix, power it on, and I'm good to go).

Read your posting in the forum for help with RH9 linux. I didnt tried to mount coolpix 4500 on RH8. But I did it perfectly with Mandrake 9.1. I feel its more user friendly and it automatically mount and unmount the file systems, just like windows. In the 9.1 you can mount the memory card as "/dev/sda1 on /mnt/removable". Or you can turn the PC off, then connect the camera, turn it on and boot the system. The memmory card of Cool Pix will be mounted on the above said location and a shotcut will be placed automatically on the desktop.
Try this for your system.
