If this is an actual PCI ADSL 'modem', then its not good news, there's so few of those actually out there that the odds of there being Linux drivers are pretty long.
If this is actually a NIC, a network interface card, where you plug ethernet into it, and then the other side gets plugged into the actual ADSL modem, then there's virtually no chance the NIC is unsupported.
If your ISP uses pppoa, its not whether its a good method or not... its the only one to use to talk to their stuff. Can Linux talk that protocol? Yeah, but I wonder what other weirdness they've added into things.

I don't know how to install the "ITeX ADSL PCI NIC" modem on RedHat Linux 8.0.
I have a P4-1.5 computer. My local ISP used PPPoA method on my "Win XP" computer.
Is this method good for Linux too ?
Do I need to download a special driver for this modem ? Where can I find the driver ?
Where can I find installation instruction for this combination of hardware and software ?
Thank's

Hi,
I have and ITeX based PCI based NIC, and there are drivers available for this card for linux, but I do not know whether they will work with yours! Do you know who manufactured your card this may help.
Or maybe the linux drivers are generic and it might work, check it out for yourself my cards manufacturer is Solwise in Hull and the card is a SAR310, have a look at there website downloads page at www.solwise.co.uk.
had sucess with turbocomm and alcatel modems, running on low end servers but work fine. I think they use the same chipset. Anyway download driver from here, http://www.treshna.com/~chefu/itexdsl-pppoa-2.4.19.html
read carefully then ask more specific questions if needed.
did you resolv your trouble with itex pci nic adsl modem on LINUX???
I've the same modem and i'd like to use it!
i tried to go on the websites suggested by the other users but
it seem not working at all...
HAve you been luckier?
