Help with dialup server

I am trying to build a box that I can use as a dialup server. I have cable coming in. I need to know as far as hardware what all, I would need. Manufactures and models would be a great help. I am going to us RedHat (current version) as the OS. I am a newbie at this...

a link would also be nice :)

Thanks,

Jeff

All that you would need would be a modem and a server. You can check compatability of various modems here:

Cheers!

what kind of modem do I need? a normal modem?

Right, any modem will [should] work, and then you can set it to auto-answer. Just make sure it's linux compatabile and has a full set of normal modem features.
