Hi My usb keyboard was working all week and this mornign i rebooted my pc and removed a PCI sound card and now the USB keyboard wont detect at all
Its running on a USB 2.0 card (onboard usb fried) /n
so its normal that doesnt light up power up until detected by OS, whether windows or linux /n
Ive tried hoping it would plug and play unplugged it while kde is running but didnt work.
it tested working on another PC and the USB card is providing power to other devices
I enabled HOTPLUG service but didnt help any either :(
sorry if this poor structured Firefox and Linux questions are impossible to use without a functional mouse.
so im using LYNX
oh and please what is the terminal command for "configure youe desktop"???????
EG. "configure your computer" is Drakconf
latest patches contirb and Penguin liberation front.
Athlon XP 1700+ ECS K7s5A 256 DDR333
It seems that Mandrake has for some reason (during install?) configured the USB-card to a specific PCI address. I don't know how to help you change that... maybe there's "kudzu" or something in your "Services"-list in Drakconf? If not, try to enable it and if necessary, install it first.
Drakconf can be run from the console, but I can't remember if "Desktop" can be configured from the console version. If you want to change the default desktop (?) edit the "Desktop" file in your home directory.
If somebody knows more about Mandrake hardware detection then please correct me... I only use Mandrake 10 occasionally on productivity laptop (no tinkering :).
all it does is install my Hardware from scratch
It's a solution cut not the best :(
could be worse change a device in WIndows XP it refuses to boot and complains and Spits a blue administrator screen (reinstall required)
