I am installing Suse linux 6.4..the problem i am facing is that when i boot from the cd1 the installation starts but after initializing it gets stuck at ide0 at 0x1f0,0x1f7,0x3f6 on irq 14..
whats the problem i couldt understand..one more thing i have 2 hard disks on my computer..is this making this problem..if yes what should i do..please reply urgently if anyonw knows...

your not giving me alot to go on here, but the only time I've seen an error like that was when the kernel wouldn't load. SuSE 6.4 uses a 2.2 series kernel. This is way outdated and could cause this type of problem. We are now on the 2.6 series of kernels. I don't understand why you have to install such an old distro when you could download SuSE 10 for free. if you dont have a fast internet connection Ubuntu will mail you a free installation cd and pay the shipping. My experience with the 2.2 kernels is very limited but I came accross this guide: http://www.freeos.com/articles/2461/
Maybe you can follow it and at least post when this happens and more details.
I'd also discourage spending time installing such an old version of SuSE. It's at least 9 or 10 versions from the current v10.0, and therefore has major performance and security disadvantages compared to more modern SuSE versions.
Regardless, you'll need to post a lot more info about your system (CPU, RAM, disk capacity, etc) in order for people to offer advice. Good luck with it
