Help installing Wacom tablet on Acer Inspire netbook with Linux Lite
Hi,
my friend just got a new Acer Inspire One notebook running Linpus Linux Lite and downloading and installing anything feels a bit like climbing everest right now, can anyone help? She has a Wacom 'Bamboo' tablet she wants to use. The notebook doesn't have a CD drive and she doesn't have an external drive, so the software for it has to be downloaded not taken off the CD. This is the link we have for how to do that, but it reads like greek. http://linuxwacom.sourceforge.net/index.php/howto/root It also says it isn't a tutorial and isn't for newbies, which we are. I think we might need to install from prebuilt (page 2.4 of that guide) but have no idea what to do when it says things like: If you don't plan to change anything in the driver, following steps will install the prebuilt files for you: [jej@ayukawa jej]$ cd linuxwacom-0.8.2-1/prebuilt [jej@ayukawa prebuilt]$ su [jej@ayukawa prebuilt]# ./uninstall [jej@ayukawa prebuilt]# ./install Please could someone advise, in the simplest steps possible? Thanks in advance! |
I've done wacom tablet stuff before, and I know what you mean! Are you just trying to get stylus functionality? Or is there more?

No, we're just trying to use the tablet at all. It needs software which she can't get from the CD because the notebook has no drive.

So, specifically, what functionality do you seek? Does the tablet have Linpus Linux on it right now?
