Help identifying Audigy 2 ZS Platinum non-pro LiveDrive ADC; and more help!

Trying to identify the Audigy 2 ZS Platinum (non-pro) 5.25" LiveDrive's ADC chip. Looking at it physically is too dark (or printing got smeared off somehow). Looked online but no mention that I can find.

AFAIK each livedrive shares a different set of ADC/DAC chips; except the Audigy 1 ex (maybe non ex), and vanilla Audigy 2 livedrive's . Audigy 2 ZS Platinum (non-pro) LiveDrive is a total mystery to me.

After looking so hard I ended up with no answer. But I guess I'll put what I did find, here, if someone finds it worthwhile.

Sound Blaster Live Platinum LiveDrive IR: Philips UDA1360T ADC
Audigy ex LiveDrive (external): Philips UDA1361T ADC
Audigy 2 LiveDrive: Philips UDA1361T ADC
Audigy 2 ZS Platinum LiveDrive: ?
Audigy 2 ZS Platinum PRO ad-link (external): Burr Brown PCM1804 ADC
Audigy 4 Pro ad-link (external): Burr Brown PCM1804 ADC

If anyone has the Audigy 2 ZS Platinum non-pro and can identify the ADC of the 5.25" i/o drive (front panel says "SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS" at top-right), I would be grateful!

PIC: http://sishardware.com/imgs/a/a/d/k/...2_zs_1_lgw.jpg Face plate swappable in white or black.

Does anyone know if 5.25" livedrive can bypass the DSP and go to the p16V without resampling? Does it do that already? Haven't RMAA'd or analyzed anything yet, but true 24-bit recording is preferred.

Thanks!

I don't think that review identifies the LiveDrive's adc. It is solely the adc on the physical cards (both the pro and non-pro), and the title of the review says "Audigy 2 ZS" (no "Platinum" or "Platinum Pro"). LiveDrive's sometimes have different ADC's and DAC's (e.g. first LiveDrive IR with I2S). I don't see any specs mentioned of the livedrive belonging to the "Audigy 2 ZS Platinum" non-pro package, and there's no evidence that the newer livedrive was used.

I found this but still no answer:
http://www.google.com/url?url=http:/...XsURqoibvi4Ubw If you go to page 4 you can see they're in fact using the back of the card for RMAA on the non-pro card.

I'm a little surprised the Livedrive's aren't more properly exposed by critics. They're very interesting considering they have their own ADC and DAC chips (adds very high quality I2S headphone TRS to older Live), and their signal to the card is completely digital. They appear much more suited for audio workstations, in comparison to the lightweight and seemingly fragile ad-link units from the pro cards (think these are better suited for musicians, or children).

hi,

well, if i identified correctly the board, it is this:

http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTIwMFgxNjAw/z/kh0AAOSwBahVTO~u/$_35.JPG
http://img0130.psstatic.com/18032153...el-sb0240-.jpg

the fact is that i find few pictures and all at low resolution, and can't read any code.
For the fact i see it as 8+8 (at least it seems) and the code is dark and unreadable, i suspect it is of the NXP/philips UDA13XX family. Maybe the dark / unreadable code is just a feature of NXP.

TI PCM1804 have more pin and code is well readable

Best regards

Thank you for your help!

That pic of the Burr Brown PCM1804 is certainly of help. It appears to have 28 pins if I counted correctly. I can also see what you mean about Audigy 2 pics being too small.

If I understand correctly, you're saying the Philips adc is only 16 pins?

Here's the best pic I could find of the Audigy 2 ZS Platinum drive (front and back):
Front (says ZS): http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTIwMFgxNj...VNHHL/$_57.JPG
PCB (one chip has 28 pins like Burr Brown PCM1804. What is this chip really?): http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTIwMFgxNj...VNHHg/$_57.JPG

The pics I found has too much light over the 28 pin chip; and a capacitor bent over it. Mine also has 28 pins but no label.

Just to clarify, the Audigy 2 ZS is SB0350. Some of them are actually missing the livedrive header I think.

Shame on creative for making things so complicated. Why not just make powerful card with digital out? Way better than spamming board with 3.5mm plugs and potential RFI and EMI? What's wrong with digital out only, with best quality ADC for professionals? Professionals don't really bother with noisy 3.5mm plugs. Video cards have no problem with dsub, hdmi, and display port. I don't understand why well known PC soundcards are so terrible quality wise, and expensive in general.

Still no answer
