help: cannot use middle mutton to paste

recently, I got a new logitech lx700 wireless KB/mouse.
It is really cool. But I no longer can use the middle button
to paste in Unix/Linux. Really have no idea why.
I used to use a USB/PS-2 wireless mouse without doing
any configuration and the middle button worked very well.

I can configuration the function of each button in windows,
but don't know if I can do it in linux. I am not root there anyway.
Cannot even write to my .tcshrc .emacs etc.

Has anybody have similar experience solving this problem?
Thanks very much.

BTW, the only difference is a MS mouse vs Logitech mouse.
Just tried to log in to the same machine from another computer,
a MS usb wireless mouse worked perfect there :-(

What shall I do in xorg.conf?
