HDIO_SET_DMA failed: Operation not permitted

Just finished installing Gentoo (again) from stage2. When I hdparm on my hard disk, I get this error.
PHP Code:
/dev/hda:
setting 32-bit I/O support flag to 3
setting multcount to 16
setting unmaskirq to 1
(on)
setting using_dma to 1 (on)
HDIO_SET_DMA failedOperation not permitted
I assume this must be something with my kernel config, but I have no idea - I never changed (as far as I know) anything to do with DMA in the config.

Have you built your kernel with any security patches ?

There could be some in there, I really wouldn't know sorry. I just use gs-sources (from gentoo portage) and set the items I need. I don't remove other things in the kernel because I don't know what they are! So if some are there by default, they would stay there.

Okay, well that could be 1 problem. Maybe check if DMA is enabled in the kernel (which should be the case).
