HDD Activity
Hello, I'm not sure if anyone can help with this, but that's why I"m posting.
I have 2 desktops set up at my workstation, one is windows and one is Redhat Linux 9.0.
I use my redhat machine to do stuff like running an Apache server, and I use it to chat on AIM, MSN, etc. Every once in a while, when i'm not paying any attention to my linux machine, the hard drive light on the box will light up and I can hear the hard drive working constantly for about 10 minutes straight. I have no programs running (other than the background services), and am not doing anything at all.
It sounds like files are being copied, or accessed, or something, and it does this every time I have my linux machine on, usually 20-30 minutes after I start it, it starts doing this.
I do not have DMZ enabled on my linux machine, so I know that nobody outside of my network is accessing it. And I am positive that nobody else in the house would be accessing it (I don't even think they know how).
Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing this?
Thanks.
