HCL Ubuntu 14.04.4

I thought I would share my experience, building this small server, for a 3 person business.

Supermicro X10SRI-F - "Raid" controller is incompatible with Ubuntu. Do not buy if you want to use built-in, FAKE RAID. There are also 2 BIOS versions of this board, floating around out there. V1 will not take the newer CPUs or RAM and you can't upgrade the BIOS without the older, compatible, cpu/ram combination.

LSI SAS9260-4I - Motherboard saw it, right away and booted, no problem.

Intel Server CPU Xeon E5-2603V3 - Worked like a charm.

Cooler Master N400 - Great for a small server, like mine.

EVGA GeForce 210 - 01G-P3-1313-KR - It was cheap and I wanted a GUI. The built in controller has lag issues.

Samsung DDR4 2133MHz M393A1G40DB0-CPB - Does what I need it to do.

EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G2 - Lots of power and a 10 year warranty. Loads of room for expansion.

WD Black 2TB WD2003FZEX - Solid drives. In my experience, low fail rate, 5 year warranty.

Zalman Ultra Quiet CPU Cooler CNPS10X - This is really the only part I had an issue with. The description said it would fit any socket 2011. They failed to mention which version of the 2011; there is a short and a long. Luckily, I was able to make the brackets fit. Ran several burn-in tests and it looks like it's going to work, just fine. Keeps the CPU at about 35 degrees, C, even under 100% load, on all cores.

Hope this helps someone.
