hauppage wintv card

I have bought a Hauppage winTv card of chipset conextant 881. I have tried many times to make it working. But no result. Can anyone tell me whether it is supported by kernell 2.4.22 or not? I am running debian sid and mandrake 9.2.
Thanks

This may or may not help you:
http://bytesex.org/bttv/ and see the link http://bytesex.org/cx88/ for 'alpha' drivers. Yes, it sucks that you have a new chipset, but later on, it may work out better for you, as new chipsets may have more functions or work better. Be patient, and the 2.6 kernel may have some hope for you.

Yes, you'll get into some sticky issues trying to install that 'alpha' patch as far as I can see on the build instructions. If I were you, I would practice some kernel building and modules configs first, get comfortable, and then load a 2.6 kernel from sources and see how it goes. I still think you'll have problems with the gcc3.x requirement, does mdk9.2 even have that yet?
Prob not, just wait a little bit to see what happens, or else, see if you can trade with someone, or return the card for an older version.
