Have setup Dell 2950 with 2x73Gb disks Raid1 and have 4x1TB in hardware Raid5. So far all ok but question is should I use LVM to setup the 3Tb or just partition the space and create my file systems?
Any recommendations about ext3, xfs or other as fairly new to this.
Thanks
Sol
Personally I prefer LVM for everything (except /boot of course), as it enable snapshot'ing for backups, on top of the other LVM features such as extending & reducing filesystems easily.

Thanks - I have not used LVM so can you recommend good primer? How long to get up to speed?
