hardware problems!

i installed SuSE 9.3 two days ago and it's been working fine. this morning i booted it and the mouse won't work. i tried a couple others but they didn't either. why did it work fine and now it won't? everything works perfect with windows xp home. also, sometimes during boot at goes to a blank screen and does nothing so i have to shut down and reboot. and sometimes it boots just fine. i'm a little skepticle about it.
what do u think is the problem?
thanks, Jim
