Hardware problem with Netgear 108 Mbps Wireless PC Card WG511T

I tried PClinuxOS live CD but it doesn't recognize my Netgear 108 Mbps Wireless PC Card WG511T. How do I make it work? Don't know nothing about installing drivers in Linux.

Run this command and post info related to nic. /sbin/lspci -v
My guess from that model the usual chipset is Atheros based. If it mentions Atheros then you need to install madwifi. You can learn about it on their site or using the search tool. Read several post to get the full understanding as to what you need to have already installed. Usually one only needs the kernel source installed.

Whether Atheros or other the first thing to do is disable all WEP, WPA, WPA2, mac and ip filtering on the router if using any of them. Set it up to give out IPs from the DHCP setup. You want to make it as simple as possible. Once you can do that then add the securit back one step at a time and get that configured to work.
