is there a hardware monitor for linux? (temp readings, etc...)

I like gkrellm best but there is also Ksensors and looks similar to Motherboard monitor for windows

my mobo has sensors, but gkrellm does not recognize it...

You need to get lm_sensors too. Gkrellm gets the info from lm_sensors. You can get it here:

It's not to bad of a install. I think you have to run sensor detect when you get it installed. It is command line. No GUI, sorry. It has a good how to though. There is also a rpm but I can't find it. I think it may be on the CD. If it is it has a bug. Let me know when you get it installed and I'll find out what to change.
