Hardware installation
hi all ,
i have just installed fedora core 4 , and i dont know how to get my wireless network card working , the system cant see it .. how can i install it !! another issue , its the sound card , the system can see my creative sound card but the sound is not working please help guys |
I've never used it, and I'm not even on a broadband connection right now, but I do know that for wireless cards NdisWrapper is what's recommended. From what I understand it lets you run Windows wireless drivers on Linux. Look into that; that's really about all I can say right now.

Soundcard - Check the volume levels with alsaconf (i think thats the program name) from a console window
Wireless card - I suppose it depends on what type of card, pci type - use 'lspci' to see if it lists the card pcmcia type - use 'cardctl ident' You could also check 'dmesg' output to see if it detects the card but is unable to assign a driver to it. |
