Yes it will work with Mandrake or any other distro you choose I have the same exact hardrive in my box and I triple boot Mandrake 8.2, Redhat 7.2, Win98SE. As for the Windows and Mac logos only being on the box I guess it has to do with marketing or maybe Western Digital doesn't recognize Linux as being worthy enough to put a logo on the box, Who knows?

Thanks I put the HD in right now and it seems to be good. It shows up as an E drive. Now I just have to wait for the linux to come in the mail. I ordered from Mandrake.com today. I should get it within the week. Cant wait. If you have any tips on installing mandrake that you feel I should know, please tell me. I take all the advice people are willing to offer.
Thanks again
